2/7 brew day. 5 AM - 10:30 AM.At ten minutes left on boil, I was at 1.045, overreacted a little and boiled for 15 more minutes. Got 1.054 for OG but only about 4.75 gallons of wort.
2/22 - I'll be curious how it tastes carbonated, uncarbonated it had a strange taste. I didn't back-sweeten. I'll likely back-sweeten next time and figure out my yeast count to scale down to 1 gallon instead of using an entire 5G packet.
1/18/2016 - brew day. start 5:30; pitched yeast at 10:25whirlpooled flameout hops for 25 minutes. shooting for 6 gal batch size w/OG of 1.071; got 5 gal batch size w/OG of 1.073.1/27 -transferred to secondary, SG of 1.022. Had a very nice aroma and was pretty bitter, which is perfect. Going to let sit until Sunday, cold crash, then keg probably Monday or Tuesday.Kegged 2/3, no change in Gravity.Since kegging, has a fantastic taste, very happy with it, but it has no nose or aroma. 1/1/2016 - brew day - 8 gal boil, 5.75 post; 5.5 into fermenter; OG was 1.059 at 5.5 gal batch size with 66% efficiency. If S-04 gets 82% att, should be about 6.2% ABV,Started 5:30 AM, done 11:15 AM.1/12/2016 - transferred to secondary, SG was 1.0121/18/2016 - kegged at 30 PSI for 5 minutes.
Only got 5.2 gallons with OG 1.061, efficiency of 61%. Transferred to secondary on 12/23/15. SG of 1.011. Hesitated dry hopping because the sample tasted amazing! But I dry hopped regardless as I felt that the roastiness was a little overpowering. 12/29/2015 - kegged. forced carbed at 30 psi for 5 minutes at 4 PM. 11 PM I bled the air and put it back on co2.
OG for 5.5 gal batch was supposed to be 1.070, ended up getting 6 gal (including trube) for 64% eff
Turned out infected. Pitched lacto bacteria on 10/10
*LHBS didn't have Cluster, using Galena as substitute; this was a 5 gallon BIAB
This was done as a BIAB in an 8 gallon kettle. Mashed at 152 for 60 minutes and then warmed mash to 170 for 10 minutes.
First AG brew.
