Oh shit, hit 20 points over gravity! Whoops...
Mash was strange -- added too much water trying to hit right temp. Ended up not sparging and just doing a single infusion. Temp was low, around 148 or less most of the time.Turned out 6.3 ABV
Modified recipe to include more roast and less oats. Also added 1 oz of hops at 60, and the other 1 oz at 15 min.2 lbs chocolate malt.5 lb roasted barley.75 lb crystal 501.5 lb flaked oat
Added 2.4 oz of freshly picked Chinook hops at 16:30 on Sept. 14. (10 days after brew day)

Dry Hopped first charge 06/25/2020
Used all maris otter instead of 2 row / mild malt. Used 2 small spruce branches in the boil the whole time, and 8 oz of nettles in a hop bag. They did leak out a lot and jam pump, btw.
Substituted oat malt for golden naked oats, and used horizon (12.9% Alpha, but from 2015, so probably less -- but well preserved) instead of columbus.
1.051 is target gravity not counting the sugar from blood orange.
Mashed with new semi-brutus system, which was somewhat weird and cumbersome. Temps at the top of the mash were at one point reading 172, with temps at the bottom at the mid 140s. Collected 8.5 gallons and ran out of time for the night. Will boil the hell out of them in the morning.Boil went fine, wort looks pretty good. Will have to see how it tastes! Might just single infusion mash and batch sparge next time.Forgot to add basil during whirlpool, so instead made 1/2 cup basil vodka ...
