Spring is coming. Gonna need this at the end of a warm day. Had about 1 lb of leftover [pilsen light to use up. Also, substituted 6 lbs golden light extract. Pitched at 71F. 1.048 OG.
Extract kit was 10 months old stored at room temp.
Used homegrown whole dried, vacuum-packed hops: 1.25 oz Nugget, 0.8 oz Chinook plus 1 oz Nugget pellets for bittering. Used hop bags. Put Citra/Amerillo in at 15 min and 3 min before flameout. Pitched at 82F
Used three nylon hop bags. Worked well. Rung out bags and removed before transferring chilled wort to Fermentor. Brix 12.00, SG 1.048 pitched at 74F
Pitched at 78F, O.G. 1.054, Brix% = 13.4, started bubbling in 8 hrs
Weighed LME in two containers (6.5lbs total), used one drop FermCap® S antifoam at boil, added 1 lb cane sugar 3 min before flameout, chilled wort to 99F in 10 min. Used two drops antifoam at pitch, Pitched at 77F,
First attempt. Cooled to 100F, added cold water, pitched at 81F, O.G. 1.088. Started bubbling within 12 hours. Rather foamy, using a blow off tube.
Pitched at 74F
This was the first try at adapting the Northern Brewer Fresh Squished recipe to my taste. Used grain that had been crushed, vacuum packed and stored in a freezer. Used pelleted hops also vacuum packed and stored in a freezer. Pitched at 4:00 pm at 75F with 11.5 g Safale US05. Fermentation lock started bubbling by 11:00 pm.
