Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Bloom yeast in 1 cup of room temperature water.
2.
Put 3 gallons hot water in 20 qt pot and bring to boil.
3.
Stir in 3.25 lbs of Briess CBW Pilsen Light liquid malt extract.
4.
Add 0.6 oz Simcoe hops and boil 60 min.
5.
Add 0.6 oz Simcoe hops 15 minutes before flameout.
6.
Stir in remaining 3.25 lbs malt 10 minutes before flameout.
7.
Add 0.6 oz Simcoe hops 5 minutes before flameout.
8.
Add 1 lb cane sugar at flame out.
9.
Chill wort to 95 F.
10.
Pour wort into 6.5 gallon primary fermentor.
11.
Pitch 10 g Safale 05 at 75F and stir/aerate.
12.
Seal fermentor with fermentation lock.
13.
Ferment 7 days at room temperature.
14.
Rack to secondary fermentor at 7 - 10 days.
15.
Add 1.2 oz Simcoe hop set for 5 - 7 days.
16.
Rack, chill, carbonate, enjoy.
