I added about an extra gallon to the sparge water to drive up volume in fermentorused 1 package of Yeast 1318 and used saved yeast from last batch with a yeast starter
had larger volume pre-boil than expected. Decided to boil longer - approx 90 minutes
post boil gravity is not logical
Had to replace Apollo with CTZ
Pants on Fire - Almost started Jim's pants on fire while lighting the burner. The first dry hop was not added until day 3 and it was left in for 12 days. 2nd dry hop was left in for 8 days. Ending ABV ~ 6%
*Jim dumped random hop flakes into fermentor.
using ale yeast
2 lbs of picked, frozen, thawed, crushed with rolling pin added at 170 degrees
transfer on 6/26 - added 4 oz leaf pellets - SG 1.018
dry hops in primary fermenter were placed in after 72 hours and dry hopped for 5 daysSG was 1.015 on transfer to secondary fermenter after 8 days.V2 Notes: 4/15/17TO TOTAL WATER VOLUME (Did not have water profile results which ='s darts in the dusk in Jim's expert opinion)Added 1.25 teaspoons CaCl Added .5 teaspoons gypsum Added .125 teaspoons epsom salt
