Mash temp went up over 70c for 5mins before adding 2L of water to bring it back down to 64CStarted with 8L of water added 2L as above, for 10L at mash start

The total boil volume ended up being much higher than the 8 planned. Therefore the OG was lower than the mark at 1.028.Around 3L was put in a 5L carboy and added 250g sugar to raise the OG to 1.053. This tasted too sugary after 10 days in the fermenter with FG at ~1.010. Tipped it out, didn't taste right.The other 8L used for below session info had 250g of DME added, raising the OG to 1.042 still off the mark of 1.048.
