Mash strike temp a little high at 72.4 which settled at 68. Managed to get to 66 within 10mins.
Last bre the OG was too low so I have adjusted recipe and calculated the PPG points the Kumara will give. Slightly higher mash temp should slow down fermentation a little also.
BREW DAY Increased Grain Bill by approx 3 kg to hit OG - Starting Fresh- recalculated water infusion steps (need to calculate mash tun efficiency today)- mashed at 66 for 60 mins - mash strike volume = 43L- HERMS circulated mash every 20mins to maintain heat and create grain bed- lautering at 1.5L per min- Used 30L Pot Lid for Fly Sparge on top of grain bed (started sparging 15 mins after conversion to boil kettle)- sparge water temp is 74 - lauter took nearly one hour - grain bed was well ...
