Hit about 70% efficiency and missed my Mash Temp (147 instead of 151). Otherwise, great brew session with correct ending volume.Pitched yeast at 3pm 3/4 and airlock activity next morning... Ferment set to 65F
Missed mash temp. 145F. Added 1/2 gallon boiling water to bring up to 155F. Mashed for 60 minutes with 6F degrees lost. Added 1 cup of light DME to boil. 85% Apparent Attenuation. Let wort come up to 71 degrees before adding dry hops The green beer (7-10 days after bottling) had a STRONG grainy/husk taste. This off-flavor is virtually gone at 14 days.
Pitched 2L starter after decanting. Blow off tube and initial ferment at 65 deg
