This was originally called Actual Crimson Abbey V.1 and was profiled as a Dubel. The used grist was mashed a second time (augmented with 2kg of MO fresh grain) for another beer. The yeast exceeded it's listed attenuation (75-80%) reaching at least 85%. Floculation was extremely high, although I used finings, I doubt they were required. Bulldog B19 is a stellar performer. However, due to B19's high attenuation levels, I would increase the ratio of caramel malts to increase sweetness.
The first version was too malty and a little too dark in colour. Maris Otter increased Munich. Crystal, Carapils reduced - Chocolate removed.
