- Rested at 110 degrees for 15 minutes.- Rested at 145 degrees for 30 minutes.- Rested at 159 degrees for 30 minutes- Fly sparged to 6.5 gallons- 7/10/19 SG: 1.016 moved to secondary
- 7/10/19 sg:1.025 moved to secondary despite weird white film on top of beer- 7/21/19 added 5 oz of cherry concentrate into the beer to see if we can salvage it :D Also added 2 oz of vanilla vean paste to it- 7/25 ph is 4.1. Going to let it drop more to get a mild sour
- Strike water at 164 brought it down to only 158- Mash water temp went down to 168 after 30 minutes :( Doesn't hold the temp as well as 5 gallon batches.- Used 9.75 Gallons of water for start. Filled to 12 gallon line for sparge. Got to 12.75 gallons for the boil wort. - Basement temp 68-70. 3/31/19-Yeast starter didn't seem to activate fermentation so I checked gravity and it was down to 1.024-1.025. Was in a bottling bucket and didn't have another so I racked it into a carboy. It was pretty clean, pretty much just the yeast at the bottom so I think I will bottle/keg today and also save the yeast for the robust porter that we are brewing next. 6 bomber bottles and keged about 4.5 gallons.
