First beer with Anvil foundry, following their suggested mash: 6.1 gallons, sparge with 1 gallon. Recirc for 1 hour, stirring top 1/3 every 15 minutes (annoying, work out better process for this?) OG was 1.060, cooled to 63F, started fermenting next afternoon, got up to 74F
Brewed 3/21/20 with 6# MO, 5# Pils, Waimea in place of N Brewer and Motueka in place of Tettnang from original recipe. Waimea (14.9) 0.5 oz @ 60, Motueka (6.2) 0.75 oz @ 20 and 1.0 oz @ 10 for 48 IBU. Caramel 40 is actually CaraGold (45l). 8/16/20 lowered MO to "soften" taste. Vic Secret for bittering, Motueka (a Saaz type frpm NZ) and Waimea (somewhat like Fuggle) for aroma hops. Lighter than 7B style guidelines but consistent with softer taste. 11/20.
