i'm soaking american oak spirals in 1 cup of bourbon
I started brewing after 1pm and finished up right at 7 with cleaning and everything.added corn sugar last 15 minutes of the boil. I had 1#2oz so I just added it allSparging only took 30 minutes. I'll see how it affected FG and make an adjustmentMy calculations were better this time with mashing and sparging. I got exactly 7.5 gallons in my boil. I'm a little worried about my yeast handling. I reconstituted the yeast but i didn't sanitize any of the stuff or boil the water. Oliver T's only had 1 ...
Brewing on short notice. I am pitching two vials of yeast since i don't have a starter.
I had a 1 liter yeast starter made a week before brewing. i decanted the extra wort off of it and allowed it to come to room temp. I hit strike temperature just fine. It was a great night, weather was about 68 outside. I mashed with 200 degree water to keep the temperature up and to experiment with it.
