Inspired by Equinox Brewing's 'Ocean of Notions Saison IPA'. 3711 French Saison yeast and Amarillo hops are as recommended by their brewer. Overall, went lower on bittering than style guideline, close to matching the 45 IBU in the inspiration beer, and just a bit lower on ABV to suit my preference. Seeing as I was apartment brewing, I wanted to try a quick dry yeast batch with a shorter boil and hop bursting for bittering.
Steve and I decided to brew a 5-gallon batch of wort and split the batch to dry hop and ferment on our own. I still have about 60 pounds of grain that needs to be used, and I had some discounted hops...Zythos, UK Target, Mandarin Bavaria and Wakatu that may be used in this brew. I will likely use the Zythos as a dry hop.
My try at a Belgian IPA using Westmalle's yeast.
