Primary for 2 weeks.1.013 going into Secondary.
Gravity after primary: 1.032
Made a yeast starter on 8/8/2018 with 1/4c of dry extract, about 12oz of water and a pinch of yeast nutrient. Brain farted the hop addition and added 1oz instead of 1/2. Added all extracts right before boil to prevent clumping and boilover.Fermenting started within a couple hours and ran hard for about 36 hours around 70*F. Down to 67-68*F for the rest of fermentation. Moved to secondary on 8/24. Gravity reading was 1.024.Bottled 9/6 with 2.75oz of corn sugar. Made 24.75 12oz bottles. Color is ...
I had a very slow fermentation start. My Wyeast was a little old, and the package didn't swell. I had nearly no fermentation after 72 hours @ 68F. I added a pinch of yeast nutrient and gave it a gentle stir. It finally took off a few hours later. I ended at 4.99% ABV, which seemed a little low. Measured again after adding the Bourbon, and still sitting at 4.99% ABV. Most likely didn't have a good seal on my Bourbon\Oak soaking and lost alcohol in the Bourbon.
