We added water at the right strike temp but once it was all doughed in, the temp was at 152. Stayed there pretty much the whole time. Not sure why the gravity is so low, wondering if it was the low mash temp.
Made some modifications.. Including 6 lbs LLME and 3 Lbs LDMEAlso used .5 oz Perle hops for the last 8 min cause I didn't have SaazAdded the wort to the yeast cake of the American Pale Ale - It was bubbling away at 6:00am. Probably alot of trub based on all the yeast on the side of the carboy but should settle out.OG was 1.078 (before yeast settled, if that matters) This is not matching up with the calcs on the recipe. Took a gravity reading on 2/5 when moving to secondary and it was 1.022... ...
Had a little burnage on the bottom of the kettle, learned the hard way to turn off burners when adding malt extract.
