Expected transfer to secondary 5/5 saturday. Then keg on the 12th saturday. Need to get a blank stopper to mix and oxygenate. Extract was real concentrated at bottom and affected the OG
Did on electric stove top. Seemed to boil ok, not a real vigorous one. Did yeast starter 4/7. Fermentation started within 5 hours.
Expected OG og 1.057ish, ended up with 1.060 at 64f. Steep grains added more sugar than expected. Good taste, just how I wanted it. Did yeast starter the night before, still fermentation in carboy didnt start as quick as I thought it would. Possibly because wert temp was 64f. Started fermenting slowly but by 14hours going pretty strong.Transferred to secondary 1/27/18. Gravity at 1.018. Assuming its because my house is too cold and once beer ferments to a specific gravity the yeast slows ...
Brewed on 12/23. Very Dark, I believe the Pilsner was old. 36 hours before fermentation. Then very heavy for about 7 hours and very skuncky. Sluggish after that but smelled good. Transfer to secondary 12/28/17, gravity 1.020. Checked gravity on 1/4/18 or after 7 days and it only dropped to 1.018.
