This recipe is for an experimental Belgian Porter. For the bittering addition, there is no drop down selection for hop extract so you will have to read between the lines. Shooting for a bitterness just under 50 IBU.
This recipe was to experiment with some new hops and to use up some leftover ingredients. Wish me luck! Flame Out Medusa addition will be done at 180 deg. as a whirlpool addition rather than right at the end of the boil. Brewed on a 5 gallon Blichmann BrewEasy Electric brewing system. Added 5 grams each of CaCl2, MgSO4, and CaOH2 to 100% RO water. Brew notes: O.G. was 1.054. Pitched 2L starter from expired WLP vial at 70 deg. @ approximately 12:30 pm. Signs of fermentation @ 6:00 pm.
