Single Hop (Cascade) pale ale used to refine recipes so I'll be ready to leverage harvest when homegrown cascade plants are fully producing. Can use all 2 row or mix Pale and 2 row for about 80% grainbill. Target 6-7 SRM and 35-40 IBU to start.

This recipe was cloned from Cascade SMaSH.

Notes:

what a difference this batch is with all homegrown 2018 hops! very lemony, low bitterness. closer to a blonde ale than a pale. certainly wont be confused with an ipa this time. i think this will be better received by the general beer drinker because it's flavorful but not bitter like an ipa. real pale ale drinkers will be somewhat confused. can't wait to see how this mellows with aging on co2

Notes:

i should note, my previous tasting note was regarding a final gravity reading prior to packaging.

Notes:

Great balance in this flavorful recipe. Some sweetness comes through along with orange and grapefruit flavors following a mild bitterness which is appropriate for a pale ale. I'd give this 5 stars if the original nice citrus aroma held on, but i'm afraid the loss of pressure in the keg allowed oxidation for a few days before i was able to refill my co2 tank and purge/re-pressurize. But, luckily, it still tastes great.

Notes:

Sampled while taking sg reading. At 1.006 for about 6.04 abv. Great citrus flavor, mild bitterness with some maltiness hanging on. Head g toward nice, well balanced pale ale.
