Special Instructions

1.
Heat 3.4 gallons of strike water up to 169 degrees F (grains at 56 degrees-adjust strike temp if grains are warmer-See Sparg Pal App)
2.
Mash target temperature= 154 degrees F x 60 minute mash
3.
Vorlauf then drain wort into brew kettle.
4.
Heat 4.9 gallons water to 170 degrees F
5.
Batch Sparge with 4.9 gallons of 170 degree water. Rest for 10 minutes.
6.
Vorlauf then drain remaining sparged wort into kettle
7.
Bring 6.5 gallons of wort to boil
8.
Add 2.0 oz of Willamette Hops & boil 60 minutes
9.
At 50 minutes add wort chiller and optional whirlfloc tablet.
10.
At 60 minutes rapidly chill wort to 75 degrees
11.
Pitch yeast.
12.
Primary fermentation 5-7 days, then transfer to secondary.
13.
After 2 weeks in secondary, transfer to sanitized keg.
