With no mash, a 45-minute boil, and 1 variety of hops, this is one of the simplest beers you will brew. Brewed to celebrate gaming, this dark brew is sweet and intoxifying. This brew begs to be aged.
If my note about pruning sugar is correct, I messed that up. It's way under carbonated, but then I like a carbonated beverage.
The smell is like candy. The taste is very chocolate caramel malty, then alcoholic, with sort of a flat finish.

My very first brew - and it turned out smashingly good! I get some roasted flavors in there, but perhaps it's my brand of dark DME. A flat finish, very subtle aftertaste that is non-offensive. Smells like chocolate candy, taste like chocolate-coffee-beer. Nice hops without being too bitter (I hate bitter beer!)

Thanks, Fritz, for giving me a good start in homebrewing!

Thanks for the comments, Johntodd! I have a bunch of other recipes that just use DME and low bitterness hops.

Not to gush too much, but as this ages in the keg it just gets better and better. It's been 7 days since my last posting here, and the beer has really matured and rounded out.

Haha, thanks a lot! I should have mentioned initially that the ABV makes this beer ideal for aging. I updated the note accordingly.
