Our attempt at a Mad Elf clone. Found recipe that had been given a "thumbs up" from Troegs. Grain store shorted me on the Munich. My fault for not checking before paying. No worries. Will bump fermentables with honey and sugar. Added .25 lb of roasted barley to mash at around 50 min into a 90 min mash. Wanted to darken the beer a little. Also, used the correct style of hops, but the Alpha rating was much lower than the recipe called for.

Special Instructions

Prior to brew session - 2 step (1.6L) yeast starter

Mash in - Add 6.16 gal of water at 164F finish target temp 151F steep for 90 min

Batch sparge with - 5 gal at 168F
4.
Add honey and sugar with 20 min left in boil
5.
Add 1 Whirlfloc tablet with 15 min left in boil
6.
Add 1 tsp Yeast energizer / nutrient with 15 min left in boil
7.
14 days in Primary
8.
Rack to Secondary for 14 days and add 2lbs Cherries
9.
Bottle and condition for minimum of 14 days
