Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Bring 19.4 quarts (4.85 gallons) of water up to 156 degrees for mash in at 144 degrees
2.
After 30 min, add 5.8 quarts (1.45 gallons) of boiling water to the mash tun to bring mash up to 158 for 30 min
3.
Bring another 3.5 gallons of water up to 170 degrees to lauter the mash and add to mash tun until kettle has collected 7.25 gallons of wort
4.
Once wort is in kettle, bring up to boiling and follow spice and hop schedule
5.
Upon flameout, place kettle in ice bath and bring wort down to 80 degrees before transferring to fermentor
6.
Place fermentor in fridge and bring temperature down to 48 degrees before pitching yeast
7.
Leave fermentor at 48 degrees for 2 weeks before raising up to 55 degrees over a few days
8.
Transfer to keg and crash down to 33 degrees for 2 weeks before carbing and continuing to lager in the keezer
