Loosely based on Mother's Brewing Winter Grind. Mash high if American Ale yeast, lower if English Ale yeast. I've had a hard time with this beer overcarbing, so I tried steeping the ground coffee at the end of the boil this time (01/28/2025), rather than adding to the secondary, we'll see how that effects the flavor and carbing of this beer. I can add some cold brew if I feel the beer needs it when I check the gravity.

1.
Add Whirlfloc with 15 minutes left in the boil.

Add Yeast Nutrient with 10 minutes left in the boil.

Add 1oz Coffee(fresh ground) per gallon at flame out.

Notes:

Nice beer, clean ferment, a bit under carbonated, but with a finishing gravity of 1.016 I expected a full-bodied beer, it seems a bit thin and not rich like I was hoping. It's good, nice bitterness and coffee flavor but If I brew this again, I'll add some carapils to round it out a bit.

Notes:

This beer tastes great, however it overcarbed even with the small amount of priming sugar used. Rich chocolate and coffee notes, very clear, great head retention, and nice body.
