Continuing UK hops experiments, this time subbing "most" of the hops in an NZ pils for UK varieties, but keeping some Nelson Sauvin because its qualities are irreplaceable (OK so Riwaka does it v well but expensive). Hopefully not too earthy...

Notes:

This has been pretty successful, it's more like three and a half stars. The kveik actually took a while to clean up properly but is just lager-like enough after some cold conditioning. The hop character is pretty good but I think it's the winey Nelson Sauvin that steals the show. But as a way of using cheaper and more local hops as a majority it worked well, only issue is a bit of woodiness and hint of earth that make it a touch less than clean. I think I'll go back to german lager yeast for most of my pils though as this is just a bit too dry and clean which actually leaves a slight hole in the flavour palette for my tastes, would work for many beers though.
