Mashed a little high on my new electric system. Around 68-69. Even with the top off and the element off, it didn't drop much. I suppose I insulated it a little too good. Didn't nail my numbers but a few points are not going to make me sweat it. I ended up using Mangrove Jacks Belgian wheat yeast. Started actually bubbling within 4 hours.
A hand full of things went awry. My digital thermometer quit working correctly. It said that something 25C was 40C. I don't know when it happened but since I used my digital for the Mash, my 66C may have been something else altogether. I'm hoping it was working somewhat correct when I mashed. I didn't have any more PH sticks so, straight tap. Between these 2 I think my efficiency went down the tubes. I wanted 1.059 as planned but ended up with 1.042. It just means it will land just over 4.2% ...
