Cleaned garage at about 11 am. Started brewing at about 11:45 am cleaning everything upstairs. 1:45-2:45 mashed at 152F. Beer after sparge before heating was 1.065 gravity. Sparge from about 3-4 pm. I probably should not have added as much during sparging since I had about 2 gallons still in grain but ok. Heated from 4pm to 5 pm. Added hops at 60 minutes and 10 minutes didn't use a bag (didn't have any). Cooled with cooling coil 5 until about 5:50 to bring it down to 72 F. I then used valve from boil kettle to fermenter - went through the funnel and strainer - it worked well. Ended witth about 5.5 gallons. Added the yeast which I had in the starter for 24 hours. I used a stir plate and poured yeast in but poured magnet in also - I will have to get the magnet when I bottle. I was done anou 6:20 pm. The gravity of the beer before fermentation was 1.086. It started to bubble (like crazy) foam everywhere within 12 hours. It really bubbled - kind of a mess. Plan to ferment for 3 weeks and add 12 oz of cold brew and bottle 5 days later.
