Extract American Brown Ale homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: Chocolate Malt - US, CaraMunich II - DE, Dark Munich - DE, Victory Malt - US, Dry Malt Extract - Amber
, Willamette Hops, Fermentis Safale US-05 Homebrew Yeast.
Yuck. This tastes like an overly strong german weiss beer. It has that strong, tart taste of yeast with the cloves kind of taste. I may have fermented too warm, the flavor is way off. Or did I contaminate the batch?
Tried 2 different bottles with same taste.

I messed this one up ... it turned out bad (first recipe I bombed!) , but don't know if due to recipe or too high fermentation temp (I suspect the temp)

What temp are you fermenting at? Have you seen the son of fermentation chiller? It's something you can build for about $80 bucks that gives you pretty good control over fermentation temperature.

I fermented right around 70 F ambient, but I guess when the yeast is active the wort is 75ish ... I will look into the son idea , I'm space constrained and add new equipment sparingly!
