In the end I used Yeast Bay/White Labs WLP400 Vermont, with starter to activate as it only had a few weeks left on BBD.

Notes:

This is a great bitter but maybe not so much a strong bitter in flavour profile. It's very drinkable (more like a best bitter) with a good nutty malt base and some caramel. The bitterness is spot on and the hops come through with a touch of orange. I was concerned the yeast wouldn't be right for the style but it's got some lovely stone-fruit esters that work perfectly. It's not perfectly clear but a tiny bit of haze never hurt anyone. Not a 'wow' beer but certainly a great pub draught bitter style pint.
