Notes:
OK so this is how old malt and cheap yeast tastes... Its sister beer, my robust porter, was mega tasty using Liberty Bell yeast and fresh malt, maybe the best Porter I ever made. This one is flat in flavour and a bit harsh even after extended ageing. A bit light Notty the yeast has dried the beer out but not contributed much in the way of esters, except a bit of a soapy character. I like lower attenuating or estery ale yeasts for English style beers. It tastes OK if I'm in the right mood but doesn't have me reaching for another pour, for a few weeks it was OK after the brown malt smoothed a bit but then it just got old. Couldn't even finish the keg.
