Notes:

The strange yeasty flavor which was very pronounced earlier after packaging has subsided substantially after a month of cold conditioning. Still has an odd flavor. not my favorite IPA but has moved to a solid 3 star rating in my mind. I'm not sure if it's the washed yeast, golden promise malt, or homegrown hops causing the off flavoring, but I'd go back to the basics for my next IPA recipe.

Notes:

i'd give this a 2.5 for homebrew rating. still better than budweiser or sam adams IPA. But, here I go... has an odd flavor, like yeasty, raw dough flavor. some bitterness but not what i expect for an IPA. I'm not sure any more cold conditioning will help. There is some sweetness, and not overly hoppy aroma. wouldn't brew this recipe again. sorry mike.

Notes:

sampled while packaging. Light caramel color, sweet aftertaste, strong alcohol aroma which i'm hoping subsides after some aging (as usual). Not much citrus aroma or flavor for using so much cascade as noted in earlier tasting notes.

Notes:

sampled while taking FG reading. This seems to be heading more toward a strong pale ale than an IPA at this stage. Not overly bitter, not a strong hoppy aroma. Wondering if Mike's hops were harvested a bit too early? Not picking up as much of the orange or citrus flavor or aroma i'd expect with this much cascade hops in the recipe. Might also be a low alpha yeild this year due to the heavy rain?
