Sampled the finished product this evening. It definitely has a subtle creamsicle-like flavor and finishes with more of a vanilla than orange after taste. Overall I would say it was 'okay' but since I don't have access to the award-winning original, I cannot say if this hit the mark or not. there isn't much hop presence rendering the beer a little too sweet for my taste.
My opinion, this is a novelty beer for a special occasion but I would not brew this for a daily/weekly brew... simply not my style.
