A tribute beer to our foreign exchange daughters (Maja from Vojvodina, Yugoslavia and Chivi from the Yucatan region of Mexico).. Maja Gold Cream Ale is a light, frothy ale that uses our Brewer's Gold hops for bittering and Vojvodina in honor of Maja at flameout for flavor. The name Maja Gold reminded us of the Mayan gold of Chivi's homeland and inspired us to use maize in the recipe. Hence Maja Gold is an American Cream Ale. We chose K-97 yeast for its high attenuation, hybrid character and subtle esters to yield a light, effervescent brew. NOTE: Vojvodina Hop was not available. Using East Kent Golding as representative substitute.
