I brewed this with the intent of producing and American Pale Ale. However, even though it matches "the numbers" of an American Pale, I feel that it is more appropriately a Session IPA.
Good beer, no complaints. Nice blush color with dark orange edges. Aroma is a compromise of ruby red grapefruit and tangerine. Same in the flavor except with some sweet spiciness, (nutmeg, cinnamon almost.) In the background of the flavor the sweet maltiness is there and I believe is perfectly in check. Body is very light, without being thin. Bitterness is close enough, I would however turn the IBUs down just a touch if I dry hopped again. Grassy after taste is dwindling quickly, which is good, barely noticeable. Great base recipe for a Session IPA, I would make this again except I would like to try a more tropical themed hop. (El Dorado?)
