Based on several years of making 2.5 gallon brews with this basic recipe. It's dark brown beer - purists might want to add a little black patent to call it a real stout. I make this in Pittsburgh with tap water plus 1 Camden tablet overnight. Good body and head, malty, quite chewy, no bitterness. My kind of stout.
