pre-heated mt with about 2 gallons of aprox 180f water. strike may have been a bit hotter than i needed, but numbers were very close. i'm wondering if i'm sparging with too much water(still sparging). dude @ shop asked about flaked grain. teased me a bit about my recipe source. v.3 will get me closer with consultation. way over og. fuck if i know.
didn't preheat mt enough, mashed a bit cool @150. sparge water cooled off too. 3-26:ferm like crazy. had to make a blowoff. need to make another for 1/2g control.
lost more temp in mash than I estimated. may not have preheated mt enough. started heat on bk at 1/2 full. need to draw less water from the mt.
not sure why og was low. bottled 3 gallons after <4days in secondary. spent <12days in primary. (brew 3-11; 2nd 3-22/23; bottle 3-26)
