First BIAB all-grain! Strike volume = 7.5 gallons at 159F Mash volume = 8.4 gallons Mash at 153F for 60 minutes Pre-boil volume =6.25 gallons Post-boil volume = 5.25 gallons at 212F Post-chiller volume = 5.0 gallons at 70 F. Upped the 2-row from 9 to 10 to help the ABV and in case FG is stuck at 1.020 or so -- also to get decent ABV if efficiency drops to 70% or less. . It's not uncommon for a homebrewer to craft a homebrew recipe that does not satisfy the specific guidelines of the BJCP style guidelines. For example, a homebrewer might make an IPA recipe and decide they want it to be more bitter or darker than the defined style.
