Modification of hop schedule for Amped and Juiced extract kit from Atlantic Brewing. 12-26-20 - Brew day. Added 1 lbs of steel cut oats as reflected below. Treated steep as a 30 minute mini mash. Steeped at 150 for 30 minutes. Modified to 15 minute boil and hop additions as reflected below. Flame out hops were added via grain bag directly at flame out. Flame out hops removed after 30 minutes and wart was chilled in ice bath. Added additional package of s-33 yeast (started with hydration and sugar) as reflected below. Filled fermenter to 6 gallons due to concerns over yield with the amount of hop additions. This lowered potential ABV to approx. 6.1 %. Expect about 5.5% when complete. 12-28-20 - In fermenter for two days. Used blow off tube. First two days of fermentation were epic. Slowed this morning to minimal bubbling. 1-11-21 - Beer started out great. Very hazy, great color, and good hop flavor. After a week in the keg the beer started to darken and the hop flavor was about gone. By the time the keg kicked the beer was barely drinkable.
