First brew in just over a year, went smoothly, ended up about a quart heavy in the fermenter and just a bit low on OG as a result. The beer was a beautiful red, the wort tasted nice and fermentation was visible about 8 hours after pitching the yeast. Looking forward to this beer.

Ended up with just over 6 gallons in the fermenter with an O.G. of 1.059, wort looked and tasted great, I used about 2.5 ounces of roasted barley and the color really turned out to be what I wanted. Brewing for my annual canoe trip. Smooth brew day, temps and gravity good and the wort tasted nice. Kicking off fermentation at 63, I'll let it rise to 68 over the course of a few days. I'll move to secondary in a couple of weeks and cold crash before bottling.
