All Grain Blonde Ale homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: Pilsner - BE, White Wheat - US, Carapils - DE, Summit Hops, Saaz Hops, WLP 029 German Ale/Kolsch Homebrew Yeast.
Tasty beer, although it's slightly sweeter than I would have liked it to be. I'm going to attribute this to the carapils in the recipe. The grain bill in this recipe was initially intended for a saison, but I decided to rebrew my kolsch at the last minute and use the grains I already bought and had crushed. I now realize that not only will carapils contribute an unwanted sweetness in a kolsch, but it would also be entirely inappropriate in saison, a style which is intended to be bone-dry.
