Special Instructions

1.
Heat water (0.83 Gallons) to 165 degrees in pot, mash in at 165 and stir well and slow, cover and place in oven heated to 152 degrees
2.
Mash for 60 mins at 152, check temp every 15 mins and then stir slowly
3.
Heat Sparge water (0.79 gallons) to 180 degrees. Move Mash to Mashtun while sparge is heating and cover
4.
Set grain bed in Mashtun, recirc Wort a few times and then drain into brew kettle.
5.
Once Sparge water is heating then dump sparge water into the Mashtun and stir slowly, set grain bed again by slowly recircing the Wort.
6.
Sparge slowly for 30 mins to pull as much sugar into Wort as possible.
7.
Start boil, add 0.2 lbs of Malto Dextrin at boil along with 0.2 ounces of Northern Brewer hops.
8.
Boil for 60 mins and then cool to 80 degrees in 15-20 mins.
9.
Transfer to Carboy and top up with cold water to 1 gallon if needed and stir well. Check post boil gravity (approx 1.67)
10.
Ferment in low 60s for 7 days and then move to warmer temps (65 to 72 for the last 7 days).
11.
Final gravity should be approx 1.020
