Brewing Notes
1) Start with 35 lbs grist and 9 gallons of water. Target is 10.5 gallons but we could only fit 9 gallons. 2) Started circ with mash water before adding grain. Target 166 F water strike temp. 3) Used 12 gallons of sparge water. Initial runnings at 1084. last runnings after collecting 12.5 gallons of boil were 1034. 4) added LME and boiled for 60 min. 5) Final volume and OG were 11 gallons and 1084.
Need to SPARGE SLOWER and with LESS WATER!!!!
Boil to just over 11 gallons finishing volume to get 10.2 gallons out
Only hit 64% efficiency, dumped 5 gallons of 1034 runnings at the end.
