How did this turn out? I've been considering a brew with peppers...had a great one at the Green Flash tasting room recently but I'm worried about too much heat.

Oddly enough, this was the best beer I've ever brewed. First pepper beer I ever brewed and it turned out exactly the way I wanted. Huge jalapeño aroma, big citus and barely any heat. Totally drinkable and pairs perfectly with a burrito. I entered it the Burg Fest Home Brew Competition and it took Best of Show. I'm actually brewing it again this week.

Nice! I'll have to use this as a starting point for mine! FYI, we rebuilt the Brewgr Brew Session functionality from the ground up, I hope you'll give it a try for your next brew, and don't forget to log some tasting notes!

How did you treat the jalapeno before throwing it in the secondary? Did you remove seeds and chop it or something else? Also, how long did you leave it in there?

It all depends on the heat of the Jalapeno's you're getting. I get mine from a local grocery store and did 1 1/2 w/seeds in the primary fermentor with a dry hop blend 6 days in. Then I put 2 in the keg without seeds.
