Mash Steps

Special Instructions

1.
Collect 2.5 Gallons
2.
Bring Temp to 155*F and steep 8 oz of Melanoidin Malt for 15 Minutes
3.
Discard Grains and bring to a boil.
4.
remove from boil and ass DME and LME
5.
Return to boil and begin 60 min boil.
6.
Add 2 oz Liberty Hops at 45 minutes.
7.
When boil is finished chill wort.
8.
Add 2 gallons of water to fermentation tank.
9.
Once wort is chilled to 80*F, pour into fermentation tank.
10.
Airate Wort
11.
Pitch Yeast and seal Fermentation Tank
12.
Ferment for 10-14 days, 14 Typical.
13.
Rack to Secondary for 4 Weeks.
14.
After 4 weeks bottle or keg.
15.
*If bottling, condition for 4 weeks at room temperature and then 2 weeks in fridge.

Notes:

Strange at first. after conditioning in the fridge for the extra two weeks it is perfect. Needs refining but still is decent or those that cant lager. If Bottling, beware the sediment, very tangy.

    Pretty decent after a lengthy conditioning. Been popping caps lately and definitely can go through a few bottles. Drinkability is high while maintaining that German pallet. Would brew again next year a bit later to finish in September. Recommended.
