The recipe is great, i have won 3 first place with it and a best of show. The no-sparge portion of the recipe requires a 26 % increase for all the grains. The results will make your tongue jump out , lick your brain and say thank you.
No sparge mashing leaves all the tannins etc behind. Good clarity and exceptional malt flavor for an Irish red. The water to grain ratio is 1.20
Hope you enjoy....... use a yorkshire ale yeast or a lager yeast... no dialy taste.
Ferment for a month, no secondary, bottle, keg, let set fo 1 month , AHHHH

Congratulations on the 3rd place and best of show! A couple of questions if you don't mind:
1) How do you get the 6.5 gallons with no sparge? Do you just use a 1.2 water grain ratio and then add water?
2)Does the grain bill above account for the 26% increase?
Thanks!

The above grain bill does not include the 26% , total grain is 14.3 lbs, 10.3 gal
Of water. Runoff wil be 1.046 sg for the 6.5 gal, boil down to 5 gal sg should be
1.058 to 1.061 sg fg should be 1.012 fg after ferm.
For a nosparge recipe the 1.2 ratio is grain water absorption, the ratio of grain to water is 2.88. Yes its very high but theres no sparge water. You'll need a tung
Capable of hold 57 qts. I use a igloo 60 qt can cooler. Or do two batches in a smaller tung.
