This looks so good. I might have to clone it. Let me know how it turns out.

It's fantastic! Maybe my best creation yet.

Tell us how it tastes, or better yet, go add some tasting notes to a brew session and rate this bad boy!

Amazing beer. The best thing about this beer is that I have a whole case and i refrigerated 3 for tonight. I am so glad we are getting through our efficiency and off flavor issues and making some delicious brews. Well done on this recipe. our recipe for tomorrow is up if you want to look.

Drink one for me! Is it the IPA you are making next?

Tomorrow we're going to brew Johnny's IPA. Then probably the IPA I posted. We need to make sure we have plenty of hoppy beverage on hand so we can move on to other things.

A forewarning - I am not a beer guy...I prefer wine (mostly red's) and nice vodkas.
So I am not much of a beer guy, but jon has tempted me to try some of his brews (and I assume jchristi is jim). Their brews have actually turned my palet on beer - reminds me a lot of red wine. Guess I never knew the complexity you could have in a beer (I am from St. Louis...I grew up on bud and natty light).
But I digress. After capping this bottle, I got a strong sense of chocolate and coffee. I am not a fan of coffee for my morning beverage, but the scent is very clean and strong from the bottle, and makes me want to try it.
My first sip confirms the coffee overtones - and holding the bottle up to a light I see this is a very dark beer - not something I would pick up in a store (cause I am a beer wimp!).
I took a second drink - this time a larger gulp to cover my pallet and the flavor is definitely more complex - I get some nutty undertones, the chocolate hit is there, with the coffee bitter finish, but..there is no harsh after taste. Didn't think I could really enjoy a darker beer like this....because I never did.
In the end, it is a chocolate/coffee start, a lighter body, and a pleasant finish.
