Special Instructions
1.Brought 4.25 gals water to 162degree F for strike temp. Also brought 1 gal to boil for warming up mash tun.
2.After warming mash tun, poured strike water in and added 11.5 lbs grains in 3 separate dough ins
3.Let mash at 152 degree F for 60 mins. Bring 4.5 gals water to 190 degree F for sparges. Poured in plastic bucket. 1st runnings recycled (about 1 gallon). Then run into brew kettle.
4.Sparge with 2.25 gals water (now at 165 degree F). Repeat for 3rd runnings. Gravity of third runnings only reading 1.005.
5.now with *hopefully 6.5 gals or so in the brew kettle, added 1 lbs corn sugar to bring pre boil OG from 1.044 to 1.050.
6.Brought to boil (1 hour boil) and began hop additions as listed
