All Grain Plus Extract German Pils homebrew recipe. This homebrew recipe uses the following ingredients: Carafoam - DE, Pilsner - DE, Dry Malt Extract-extra light-UK, Hallertauer, Fruehensis Hops, Magnum, German Hops, Tettnanger, Fruehensis Hops, White Labs Pilsner Lager WLP800 Homebrew Yeast.
1.ferment at 52 F in primary and secondary for 18 days and 6 days, racked on 10/1/2022
2.water for mash 5 qts, for sparge 3 qts, for boil 7 qts
3.no yeast starter, used 2 packgs., one expired in Aug
4.pitching temp 73F; mix 3.5 gals of 108F wort with 3.5 gals of 45F water
5.used filtered city water
6.strike temp 165F
7.69x12oz (355ml) bottles, marked CP; bottled on 10/7/2022
8.3/4 cup of DME in 3 cups of water for priming
9.started fermentation @ 69F for 1 day
10.brewed on 9/13/2022
11.fermented in glass (primary) and plastic (secondary)
12.Forgot Irish Moss (beer was murky after primary fermentation). Added an "Irish Moss tea" (IM boiled in a bit of water for 7 min) Improved settlement in sec. fermenter dramatically.
