black as night, with a frothy tan head that fizzles out in the first few minutes, but leaves a 1/2" that remains until youve hit the bottom dark roasty malts, light hints of cocoa, with a good hop profile from the apollo and simcoe roasted malt and black malt astringency, good hoppy backbone. an extreme balance between the two. its kind of a brutal beer. but i wanted it to be that way good chewy body i'd brew this again, with very minor changes
