EZ Rye Kolsch Brew Session

Trying to keep it fermenting 64-68F, with the bucket inside an ice bucket filled with cool water. Ambient temp is 73-75, so it's tough. Bottled after only a week, but the gravity was right on the money. Tasted when bottling, and it was a darker flavor than I was expecting. The caramel malts in the extracts really come through.

FITZ

Tasted on 10/15/2019 by FITZ

Notes:

Everyone seems to get a different taste from this beer. It's been described as a banana walnut muffin, a spicy brown ale, chocolatey, licoricey, smooth, crisp, slightly sweet, and completely delicious. It's a good one, and super simple to make.

Notes:

Only a week after bottling, and it's already very pleasant. No head yet, but nicely carbonated. Smells of bananas, black licorice, and chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, then brown bread, then banana. And now all I can think about is black licorice.
