A double/imperial IPA made with Citra, Amarillo and Nelson hops. This special tribute beer has double the hops, double the vision and double the trouble.
Pours cloudy with a short 1/2 inch head from the keg. The aroma is clearly noticeable and citrusy but lacking the punch-in-the face-hop aroma I was after. Medium to low body with hop characteristics all the way down, though again not as strong as I had hoped. Bitterness is low and not overly alcoholic. So far this beer is great and enjoyable but I think it might still need more time to condition despite being in the keg for 2 weeks now.
I tasted about 8 ounces when transferring to the keg, so at this point the beer was not conditioned or carbonated. Great hoppy aroma and flavor -- peaches, sage, a little citrus. At 8% ABV, great balance with no overwhelming alcoholic flavors.
